MultiMag featured in DISCO2030 Newsletter

15.10.2024

We are excited to announce that the MultiMag Project has been featured in the latest edition of the DISCO2030 Newsletter, signalling the first steps toward an exciting future collaboration between the two initiatives.

This feature underscores the growing potential for shared innovation between DISCO2030’s advancements in hybrid manufacturing and MultiMag’s pioneering work in multi-material magnetic components.

The DISCO2030 Project

The DISCO2030 project is an ambitious initiative focused on developing two groundbreaking hybrid manufacturing methods for joining dissimilar metal-metal and metal-polymer materials. Powered by additive manufacturing (AM) technologies, the project leverages Powder Bed Fusion (PBF) and Directed Energy Deposition (DED) to enable the creation of multi-material, lightweight, and complex geometry components capable of thriving in harsh environments.

DISCO2030’s innovative methods promise a 20% reduction in lead times and components that are 50% lighter and 30% more efficient than current industry standards. These achievements, combined with the project’s potential to set new material joining and testing standards, position it at the cutting edge of European additive manufacturing and global supply chain resilience.
